I have been working as a counsellor in the trauma field since 2001. I have spent most of my counselling career providing support, information, resources, and care to women in or leaving abusive relationships; as well as,  providing support, grounding, and processing facilitation for survivors of sexual assault. I have done extensive cross-training in trauma therapy (you can check out some excerpts from my CV below).

The most important thing to me, in the work we would do together, is that you will feel safe, heard, valued, respected, not judged, and that you have options in your healing journey. Your therapeutic experience can be as individual as you! ​

Cindy (she/her) has developed a practice in a foundation of a Neurobiological Understanding of Trauma, Mindfulness and Yoga-Based Trauma Therapeutic Approach for safety-building and grounding, as well as using tools such as EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and IFS for trauma reprocessing. She works from a foundation of feminist, anti-oppressive, client-centred care.

Cindy has almost 20 years counselling individuals who have experienced either sexual trauma, intimate partner violence, or both. In addition to her degrees, she has taken numerous courses and workshops and additional counselling certifications specific to working with trauma impacted individuals.

She has completed her level 1 Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute), as well as EMDR Certification (Niagara Stress and Trauma Clinic), and Internal Family Systems training Level 1 and 2 (IFS Institute). 

Cindy has also completed workshops in the Therapeutic Spiral Model (Dr. Kate Hudgins), Shifting Abuse Related Internalizations (Dr. Sandra Wieland), and three levels of Trauma Training with Dr. Janina Fisher, Boston Trauma Institute.
